Went Skeet Shooting for the first time in 25 years today over at Prado.

Nice place to shoot! Not crowded, very nice facility, not expensive.

Shot 3 rounds (75 clays).

I had forgotten how much fun this can be.

I used a friends Winchester pump, as I do not have a long barrel shot gun.

I am looking into them. Looks like I can get into a semi Mossberg or Remington for not to much money. Are they reliable?

Anyway, had a blast, just wanted to share.

yes, both Mossi and Remy pumps will be available guns. How much are you looking to spend?

For under a 1000, you have a ton of choices. Look into a semi to give yourself the best chances of making hits. Not to say you can't run the field with a pump gun, most would say its easier with a semi. Are you looking to buy new or used?

As to reliability of the Remington, I have an 11-87 28" that is now very reliable, but It did have to get broken in with probably around 300 rounds (and a couple very good cleanings) I initially experienced failure to eject. Now that it is broken in I have not had one problem in the last 1000 rounds or so. I believe that this model runs about $600, so it may be an option for you. Though there may be something more reliable right out of the box like the Mossberg 930 or Remington 1100.

For $1000 you can pretty much get a very nice semi auto or even buy a nice used over and under.

I did some reading today and it looks like the Winchester SX3 is at the top limit of my price range. I have read mostly good things about it. Does anyone own one or have shot one that would like shed an opinion? This will mostly for Skeet, but an occasional hunt is possible.

Check out the Beretta AL391. I really like mine..... I shoot skeet, pheasant, quail and hopefully Chukar.
