I am almost 18 in about one week and I was wondering for a ppt transfer of a long gun that is less than 50 years old if I could do the ppt and then when I turn 18 pick up the firearm after the 10 day waiting period. I had heard that you could do this and wanted to see if it was true.

You might want to ask this in the FFL forum, but a doubt it.

You will have to be of legal age at time of paperwork.

Hopefully the firearm I am interested in is still for sale when I turn 18.

just tell him you'll be 18 in a week and ask them to hold it... put down a deposit or something.

1 week... offer a $10 premium for the hassle.

unless they're hurting or jonesing for some drugs most people could really care less. (FYI <-- that was a joke)

If it were me I'd wait for you. Cool to help a noob make his first purchase.

And if the gun store is not cool, ask them if they'll do it with a 10% deposit. They're more likely to work with you when they know they'll get money.

(assuming they're part of the "Well this is a business, I have to make money" crowd)
