Probably flagged as evil by the hate mongers that want to tell me how I am to live my life.

It is OK to advertise sex for money with a drug addicted ex felon transvestite with Aids but no firearms please!

I called him this morning. The Ruger had sold.

He's a nice guy, easy to talk to, informative, etc. He was willing to drive to meet (we didn't get into how far).

He still had the HK and it's a VP70R. If you're like me you have no idea what that is. Well, he told me a little and then I said told him I'd hit google and read up a bit myself...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heckler_&_Koch_VP70 .

It's not the 3 round burst version, sorry. The 'R' designation is the civilian version. Evidently it was the first polymer pistol.

It is double action only and that may mean a longer trigger pull for each shot.

As he mentioned, he does have 4 mags. Not sure on the capacity.

I doubt many of us will have another chance to buy one of these...in Cali with 'The List'. So if it moves you might be worth getting.

Isn't the VP70 the HK pistol that works as a full auto when you attach the stock to it?

the same one that was used in aliens?

checked the wiki, yup thats the one...

550 is a screamin deal on that.

I don't think the R (civilian) version works in burst mode.

IIRC the pistol is the same, the stock works like a DIAS and is itself the registered machine gun... I'll look into it tho...

Well I was wrong.

the 70R or 70Z was unable to accept the buttstock to turn it burstfire

it was the 70 and 70M that could take the buttstock.

very minor differences between the two.

cool read.

18 round mags from the factory :D

On wiki it says...

"The handgun comes in two varieties. The "Z" (Zivil, civilian) variant is the civilian version and is incapable of firing bursts or mounting the stock, and the "M" (Militär, military) variant that is burst capable. "

Of course, wiki isn't always right and I know nothing about this gun other than what I've read there.

And thanks for posting about Aliens...I haven't seen it for a while and I think I need to rent it.:)

Only the "M" will work with the stock on 3 round burst...relax. He has the "Z."

05-31-2007, 7:41 PM
hey I already admitted I was wrong sheeesh... doesn't stop it from being rediculously cool

05-31-2007, 7:43 PM
I wonder what capacity his mags are..

10 rounds of course

Those VP70s are amazing and shoot well. I had the pleasure of shooting the civilian model on a few occasions and rather liked it. That is indeed a screaming deal, especially for an HK collector, they're hard to come by.

The VP70 is SPF's. :D I contacted him last night and let me buddy get first crack at it.

4 mags or 4 CLIPS ?? :D

Not sure what kind of mags he has....but the hicaps were about $100 per back in the day when I should have bought one off the shelf.

Strange sights, though, IIRC the front sight "post" is actually the shadow cast by two ridges.

Trigger is way funky, too, a strange shape and an long pull.

Still, cool for a collector. The first wonder hicap 9 that I am aware of.

Great price, too.

How about a finders fee? Well? I hope those firearms go to a bunch of great guys. Any word on Matt? Sending more money next week.:D
