The gun lobby likes to work in the shadows ... when they think you're not watching!

Dear Friend,

Lurking around Washington, the NRA often waits until the "dog days" of summer to make its biggest moves. Why? Because they believe no one is paying attention.

Every summer, I see how they operate — quietly attaching deadly amendments onto popular bills, and pushing their agenda through Congress and state legislatures behind closed doors.

Fortunately, we're ALWAYS watching. And we need to be ready to act on a moment's notice — and to do that we need your help!

Just this month we are getting ready for battle on three fronts:

*Defeating the usual “July sneak attack”, likely to be what we call the George Zimmerman Act that will force virtually every state to allow dangerous people like Trayvon Martin’s killer, George Zimmerman, to legally carry loaded and hidden handguns across state lines and in our communities;

*Stopping a dangerous amendment by radical Sen. Rand Paul to force our Nation’s Capital to allow anyone with a concealed carry permit from any state, to carry loaded hidden guns, including on the National Mall and in front of the White House;

*Stopping the recent flood of deadly assault weapons on California streets by unscrupulous gun manufacturers who are purposely evading California’s Assault Weapons Ban.
We have been successful so far this year but we need your help to remain vigilant.

We know these sneak attacks can happen at any time so please make sure you read our e-alerts — your calls make a HUGE difference.

Help us be ready to take on the NRA in an instant.

The gun lobby has to operate in the shadows — it’s the best way to foist its unpopular agenda on an unsuspecting public. We will not allow this to happen. Thank you for standing with us.

Sincerely,

Brian Malte

They are really gonna crap bricks if Zimmerman get off. They will lose their poster guy.
I kinda suspect he will get off. The kid had him pinned on his back beating the crap outta him. There is a video out there of Zimmerman with a bandage on the back of his head, and he had a broken nose. Just my opinion.

Hummmmmm.........Bullet button law......Just quessing?

As far as I can tell, it's just the mag magnet, not the bullet button chassy, that is outlawed in SB249.

*EDIT*
For those who jump to conclusions:

"My interpretation of SB249 is the mag magnet, but who really knows. I could be wrong or right. It's all speculation."

Most likely it's always going to be speculation, will never be defined, and will be up to individual counties for interpretation and prosecution.

They do not support SB249.

I wouldn't believe them even if they say they don't. Remember Yee claims he decided not to submit SB249 after talking with the NRA but that his staff pushed it through without his knowledge. They lie. Deviousness and dissembling are part of the apparatchik mindset these kinds of organizations attract.They zealously believe their end justifies their means because NRA members are monsters.

Brady view of the NRA
Dark-cloaked figure emerges from the shadows and approaches a fresh-faced little boy after school: "Hi little Billy, I am your uncle, um, Bob Nra. Yeah. Your Mom sent me to pick you up because she's busy. Look at this nice shiny new assault weapon! Would you like one? I call it the Street Sweeper. They are fun to shoot at people, cool, like in the movies. Ever see a .50 BMG? It can blow up cars with a thing that goes up. Ever wanted a ceramic undetectable Glock you can take to school through the metal detectors? Wouldn't that be fun? You can get even with all those bullies and other kids you don't like! Ever hear of armor-piercing rounds? Just get in the truck and I have a lot cool fun stuff to show you—but don't tell your Mom okay?"

Shameful. I can't help but think it's some kind of satirical website. It's 'The Onion' level of ridiculous.

If you listen to a lot of NPR like I do, you probably listen to 'To the Point', its probably the best source for indepth news on the radio (or any where) in my opinion anyway.

No commercials, all sides presented by guests that are well versed experts on their subjects, well moderated, no yelling or shouting, and very little rhetoric except the time I heard Dan Gross from the Brady campaign on...

He was talking about the 'George Zimmerman vigilante act' in refernce to national reciprocity (I swear to God) and the old bastard that runs that show didnt know how to handle him..

Poor Warren, he keep going, um... and.... yes... well... Rational people dont know how to respond to such nonsense. Especially on an actual 'news' show. I know how WLP and the NRA can come off sometimes, which is why they are smart enough to decline requests for interviews 90% of the time, but brady has him beat by a mile. It sounded like Orsen Wells doing 'War of the Worlds' in the middle of a State of the Union Speech. That email was an excerpt from the forthcoming book:

"Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence: A Study in Clinical Psychology Related to Hoplophobia, Paranoia and Developmental Psychosis in Urban Liberal Populations." Authored by Dr. Jeremy P. Rancor M.D., Professor of Psychiatry, Emeritus, at Lafayette Stapelton University.

In the book, Dr, Rancor points out that most hoplophobes suffer from a unique form of visual delusion wherein they perceive that NRA members are stalking them, especially in dark places. Dr. Rancor believes the syndrome originates in the hypocampus and is similar to the disorder that is responsible for night terrors, vampire and werewolf legends. In milder cases Dr. Rancor found that sufferers couldn't sleep without a light on or while the closet door was ajar. In the most severe cases, Dr. Rancor found the mere sight of a "I'm the NRA and I Vote" bumper sticker could result in a full blown psychotic episode requiring in-patient care.
