If you agree that ban on .50 BMG in California was without basis and should be lifted, please sign my petition. I have it posted at the link above.

It's not much, but it is a step in the right direction.

Sincerely,
Sean Williams

I doubt the idiots we have in Sacramento right now will even listen, but November is coming!

Saw this and immediately thought "Winter is coming" (all you GoT fans get it). It's like a potentially positive version of the saying.

Petitioning the CA government is a fools errand. They don't care what their constituents think, because they know what's best for us.

No, it's laughable. Anyone who thinks this is worth wasting 5 seconds on doesn't understand how the world works.

So the law is working ?

Last I checked, there has never been a confirmed case of a .50 BMG rifle being used to commit a crime. Just a couple recovered during raids and there was reported use of .50s at the Waco raid I believe.

Signed it, along with the petition to allow pigs to fly and unicorns to live in my back yard.

Wasn't the 50 BMG ban for the kids? There's got to be a reason for it with so many problems with gang bangers in LA using a 5 foot long (nearly 7 with a suppressor) nearly 40 pound (when loaded) rifle for a drive-by. Yeah-right!

The petition is a good idea in a democracy. In CA, unless you're lifting the ban on some strain of weed called 50BMG, not so much.

They were banned because they could be used to shoot down a police helicoptor.

One can shoot down a chopper with a 17 HMR and a pellet gun scope

Gimme a break.
