Four dozen illegal firearms seized from Bay Point residence
By Erin Ivie

Deputies seized 49 illegal weapons from a Bay Point home... ( Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office)

BAY POINT -- A act of violence reported Thursday night in Bay Point led police to a cache of 49 illegal weapons in a residential home, authorities said.

Dunno about the "act of violence" and certainly not sure what is illegal in this picture...

The pistols might not have been registered. The two on the bottom-right probably have the banned "scary" features on them. The rifles and shotguns all look fine. I don't know about the Woodmaster though. Can't have a thumb-hole stock with a un-fixed mag right?

If they were stolen then that would not make them "illegal" necessarily. Or the reporter is a moron.

Illegal or not, it bugs me to see firearms stacked like cordwood.

Well if he has a full auto UZI and no tax stamp he is in quite a bit of trouble.

Can't argue with that.

I hope some guys in the SFPD can "liberate" a few of these from the evidence room and save them from a terrible demise. I can see at least 5 that belong in a collectors safe and at the range and NOT being melted down into some anti-gun artwork.

If he had a full auto Uzi, I doubt he would be wasting his time with a 16" barrel.

I remember hearing the press conference on the radio while driving home, and one quote stood out...

"Though these weapons weren't illegal, he shouldn't have had them."

I was like WTF?
