Hey folks, just want to share with you all who use the Lee Pro 1000, and as you know, the chain on that press is very weak. Mine snapped twice already and I'm tired of replacing it, so I went to home depot and got this wire in the wire/chain section. It is 27 cents per foot and it has a breaking strength of 97lbs.

Since photobucket will not upload my photos, I'll just attached it here.

On the bottom of the chain, tie a knot so you can rest the spring, and on top, after adjusting the length, just loop it through the holes a few times. Now you dont have to worry about having the chain break on you. Hope you enjoy this.

I had the same issue. I went with paracord. In addition to the spring, there is a little stretch so there is not too much tension.

Very nice. I'm sure I will have to replace that chain soon.
