View Full Version : Proper Height/Width for Aftermarket Front Sight on RIA Tactical?

Before I pull the trigger on buying this, I just wanted to get input from those who have one or know the specs for the RIA 1911 Tactical 5" .45ACP "dovetailed" model? Is this the correct sight height and width for an already sighted in gun? It shows the front sight as being .180" tall and .100" wide. Can anyone confirm if this is the proper front sight if I'm leaving the rear NOVAK sight as is?

I think the stock width is.125" but .100" will be better. As for the height you need to measure it. I had two different tactical slides that had the dovetails cut to different depths by about .015" of an inch. You can also knock the sight out and send it to dawson to match it up.
