So after much research and time, I finally put together my Remington 700 SPS tactical AAC in .308 together!!!

Ingredients:
-SPS tactical AAC SD
-HS precision PST 086 M24 Stock
-Glass bedded, lapped bolt, polished trigger, and custom muzzle break (still waiting on squish washer to secure the fit.
-Badger Ordance 20 MOA base
-TPS low rings (great rings)
-Vortex PST 4-16x50 MOA reticle
-Blackhawk Cheek rest

I had it put together by a recommendation from a member on calguns. He is a great guy who really takes pride in his work.. I mean look at this glass bedding job, unreal. He contracts for the Visalia PD, and really knows his stuff. If you live around the Visalia Area and are looking for a great gunsmith at VERY good prices private message me and ill get you hooked up with him. Hes going to convert my Saiga 12 Next week.

Thanks guys. I was hesitant of the vortex 4-16 because of two reviews about optic quality. After I had it in my hand I was MORE than pleased with it. The quality and care on this scope blew my mind. Made me a huge vortex fan. The quality of the scope is better than my leupold VX3 CDS no sweat. Very cool reticle, and I'm sure I'll be able to see bullet wholes on white paper at 200 Y

just curious, but if you put all that time and money into it why didn't you have the smith time the brake and turn it down to match the contour of the barrel?

still looks great and i'm sure its a shooter. enjoy

Nice, I have the same rifle and have yet to shoot it b/c I am waiting on the SS 5-20x50 scope to come in. I got in on that facebook deal but they're seriously backordered...no idea when I'll be getting my scopes.

are you seeing any flex on the front end of that stock with the bipod on it, or did your gunsmith take care of that somehow? mine will flex at the very front and meet the barrel with the bipod mounted.

Thenotorous- he was going to but it was to small for his machine to mic down, I kinda of like it being a little bit bigger than the barrel anyways.

That hs precision stock has absolutely no flex, there's no way I could squeez it with one hand to make it touch the barrel. The old houge stock on it I could wit just my pinkie finger

Oh my bad I didn't read your post thoroughly and just thought you were glass bedding the Hogue stock. This makes much more sense now knowing you have the HS Precision stock.

I picked up a 5R take-off (PST012) that was already inletted with a PTG DBM for a good deal. I'm not crazy about the color (it's black with green webbing all over it) but I'll live with it.

Where did you buy the stock? I wanted the PST093 before I found the 5R take-off but couldn't find it anywhere.

I was going to get the 93 to but I wanted too keep the weight down. I got it from stocky stocks, ordered the tan but they had a black in stock so I got that instead. There's typically a 3-4 month wait for hs stocks but if you keep an eye on the site you can get one sooner, I did haha. Great stocks though, worth the wait.

I'm happy with my 5R stock :) The DBM is handy. I also forgot to mention it had a karsten cheek rest too. Sweet deal, can't complain.

Now if I can just get my damn scope, life will be good...

Side question: my stock has an aluminum bedding block, do you know if it needs to be glass bedded too?

It should need to neccesarly, but it's going to bond the stock and rifle that much tighter, and in precision shooting, consistency is everything. Main this is that you have a good free float off hand and on a bipod.

I like that SWFA scope and a hell of a deal. Should be a very nice scope for ya!
