Today at the end of my range session was working on emergency reloads with the support hand only and caught the slide on a rivet on my jeans while releasing the slide. In doing so I put a nice scratch on the top of the slide! At first was a little bummed, now I am pretty happy with it for some reason. :cool2:

I assume it's 226, 229 and was not 210 or X5/X6. Sig is a service pistol. It's meant to go to hell and back. Don't worry about a little scratch. I only care about the scratch if I didn't put it there.

Enjoy your Sig.

Now that you got that out of the way you'll have more fun with it.

if it was an X5 or my 1911's (safe queens) I would be a pretty upset. It's a 226 navy which has a few tactical handgun classes under its belt, surprised it has gone this far without a scratch or holster wear. I am sure there will be many more scratches to come. Can't wait to get back out and shoot it again. After about 1500 rounds it has really broken in and is a dream to shoot.

Who cares really? It's like getting a scratch on your car. Just part of life :)

I practiced the DA/SA transition a lot, and now there's a chip where the decocker hits the frame when it goes back up. Stuff like this just shows that you actually practice and shoot your guns

you can always touch it up with the birchwood touch up pen. they have it in blue and flat black and possibly some other colors.. then buff it with some 0000 steel wool. I've found it handy for light scratches

Note to self, wear my fat sweat pants next range trip.

Sucks but you will get over it, maybe.

if its showing steel, like a deep scratch, then i'd touch it up. rust prevention. scratches are love/hate.

That's how I always feel when I put the first scratch on any of my new guns then afterwards I stop carrying and just have fun with them.

Its now no longer a baby to be protected but a bad MFer to be feared.

Is it a real scratch or a brass colored line?

Jeans rivets shouldn't be tougher than a Sig.

Try wiping it off with something with the word "miracle" on the bottle and some 0000 steel wool.

If anyone asks how it got there, tell them that you can tell them, but then you'd have to put another there with the first . . . .

Guns are just tools, especially Glocks, they are just hammers. My first Gen G19 still runs fine.
