Can someone explain to me what will this mean to people that have rifles with a bullet button?

it means if it becomes a law or whatever it is, that law biding citizens with ar-15 or ak47 type rifles will have to give up our rifles or we will become
criminals.

It hasn't passed yet, it just passed the public safety committee, now moves to the appropriations committe?

nothing yet. it hasn't passed -- it was approved by one committee and now moves on to another. it shouldn't affect bullet buttons, but other things are afoot that might.

there's a long thread in 2A that covers all things SB 249.

You could have looked it up in Google News.

It hasn't done anything past what we expected. The Safety Committee is 2/3 Democrat. Appropriations might be a totally different ball of wax.

No, not really.

You lose the freedom of having a Bullet Button type conversion kit. Means you'll have to have a fixed mag (screw locked mags are maybe okay still?) and top load.

Either way it's a load of garbage

SOP for gun bills is to call, email, write, and fax your state assemblyman, state senator, and committee members (and if necessary the governor) and let them why you support/oppose the bill(s). Do this until we win/lose.

discussion in the 2A forum, please.

And, please use the "Everything Yee, 249" etc thread - we really don't need any more threads about this untiul we have some actual information.
