Im looking to purchase couple of holsters for my g19 gen4 and my XDm 5.25.

Any suggestion! I was thinking of getting the black hawk serpa. I saw a vid of of guy doing a review on the serpa. He was stating its a possibility that if some debri got into the release mechanism to release ur pistol, u may might not be able because the debri or something else. Now im not sure if this has happen. Just one reviewer stating something like it might happen.

What do u guys think of the black hawk?

Any other suggeations? Most likely i will buy my stuff on amazon because i have a few gift cards.
Also im not looking to spend a lot of money. Probably something similar in price of the Blk Hawk.

I use a blade tech holster for my XD 4" service and my Ruger MkIII Hunter pistol. They run $65 or less and fit the gun very well. They have adjustment screws but no retention locks. I use them for steel competitions. Check out pistol gears web site for the xdm holster-they have pretty good prices. I had to special order the ruger holster direct from bladetech, but they got it done.

I have owned Serpas for well over 5 years , I have them for several of my handguns and carry daily . Never had an issue with it . I am aware of the problem you speak about , it was a problem first reported by a German police officer .
The issue was found to be poor maintenance practices . The serpa in my opinion is good to go .
I also have other holsters . Understand what you need the holster for and then choose accordingly . All holsters have their limitations .

I'm not putting down the serpa brand cause i didn't know about so called problems with the serpas, but i've posted this on other forums and a few people said to stay away from the serpas.

I plan on to use the holsters for the range or even maybe a pistol class.

What about these type of holster? Have any of you guys have any experience with these holsters?

Not buying the army digi camo to be tacticool :D. It's a good deal and its seems it will fit nicely for my pistols whether it be my g19 or xdm.

As for the safariland als holster it seems similar to the serpa design as in the locking system. Is this similar to the serpa design?

I've also came across uncle mikes reflex holster. Again seems similar to the serpa. But it seems that they only make this for RH only.

safariland ALS (http://www.opticsplanet.com/safariland-6377-als-belt-holster-stx-tac-black-left-hand-6377-283-132.html)

Uncle mikes reflex holster (http://www.unclemikesle.com/products/index.cfm?ClassID=7&ClassCategoryID=41&FamilyID=240)

Out of the 3 holsters, the safariland seems to be my choice. But again kind of worried because it might be to similar in design with the serpa.

I have been happy with TAC TECH CAL Kydex Holster for my Service XD 9. Jim the owner can make custom kydex holsters for any gun and in custom colors. His holsters are just as good as Raven Concealment System without the long wait. I got my Holster and Dual mag pouch in a week since I am local. But he gets them out in 2 weeks for shipped orders. He sells his Kydex holsters on Glockstore so you might get your G19 holster there and custom order the xdm on his website.

I have no ties to Jim at TAC-TECH-CAL or Glockstore. Im just suggesting a great holster

here is the link to his site and glockstore.

Thanks i'll look into it.

Although i am thinking about the safariland. But i wonder if there will be wear marks?

What does happen when there are wear marks on your pistol? Does that happen eventually with most holsters?

Is it getting scratched i would assume?

My Xd 9 is weeks old and its been put in and removed about 50+ times so far without any marks yet. I have seen other guns with wear marks from holsters but i dont know how long it took make marks. Ill let someone else answer that.

I own 2 xd 9's , the first was purchased back in 2005 , carried in a serpa holster every day for over three years without issue . Many FBI agents use them . If there was such an issue with Serpas one would think they would remove them from the approved list .

I like serpa holsters because of how versatile they are , belt mount , paddle mount are included . You can change the angle to your liking and you can purchase many accessories . The Military wears it in combat . Who are you going to believe , major federal agency and US Military or some guys bashing them on a forum ? Yes there are many options , I went in combat with two serpa holsters for my sig , I now carry with a com tac for my 1911 .
Still use the serpa holsters with 0 issues after 7 years .

You r right MRed. People have there own opionions.

Again i can't bash serpas because well i haven't owned a holster yet. I just get my info from what i read and what not.

But the safariland 6377 looks pretty nice. I think i may go with that. Although it doesn't come with a paddle. But the 6378 model has the paddle and belt attachments.

But the serpas seems to come with all that stuff. +1 on the serpa brand.
