Anybody had a chance to check one of these out? I'm considering building a Glock from the frame up (for fun, why not?) and I'm wondering if this is worth considering.

It seems to be getting some positive reviews, but I've practically never heard of it.

$ for $ I'd say it aint worth it.......

Not sure if it's worth it but the one reason I don't own any Glocks is the grip angle. I like the idea of improving that in a new aftermarket frame. Makes me want to shoot one...

If your hands are small timberwolf frame is good for you,but if you have a big hand i suggest just buy a whole gun rather than building it from scratch that way its a lot cheaper.

Well the point isn't so much the cost or having a Glock (I do already own a Glock and have before) but wondering about that frame because I'm interested in building a gun from the ground up for fun. I assume it'll cost a bit more that way. Thanks for some opinions, though. I did read somewhere that they put the grip angle in a way similar to a 1911 grip, you can kind of tell by looking at it.

do you realize it is not on the roster? Nor any bare frame.

Do you realize the roster is a hurdle and not the great wall of china? Just look.

Simple solution is too ship the top end to Glockstore and have them send the (now) complete weapon to your FFL.

I've bought 3 GLOCK frames from out of State. 2 from GLOCKMEISTER and one from a private party in Arizona. My FFL knows me and I just showed up when they arrived and brought a top assembly with me. Waited 10 days and took her home.

On one custom G19 I built for my daughter, the Frame came from GLOCKMEISTER and I did buy the lonewolf slide/barrel/guts from Lenny at GLOCKSTORE. During the DROS period I gave my FFL a top end from another G19 I had. No Problemo.

Both have a good point. I guess their frame would be considered an entirely different gun? I'm not LE do that could be a challenge. Thanks though.

Group buy please, in for 1 on the bare frame (http://www.lonewolfdist.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=80127&CAT=3168) version :)
Maybe 2 if a .22lr slide work on them.

The Lone Wolf frame certainly seeks to correct the big complaint against Glocks, the belief that the frame is not ergonomic.

It'll take a little more work to get into California but if the features of the frame are attractive then you should do it. You'd probably never see another in California.

Id be interested but not sure if its CA compliant!

You can get these at the Glock store in San Diego. What's gives with the "won't be able to get these in Cali" mentality?

Hey, good to know! Maybe I'll make some calls and see what I can find out. Thanks.

Do you know if they are sending them out to FFLs as a SSE?

They would send it to any FFL that does the SSE. They don't sell them in store unless you are exempt from the roster. You might be better off going to your favorite shop that does SSE and order one straight from the manufacturer.

I called lonewolf and they wouldn't ship a bare frame to ebr works for an sse. Said they'd do the sse conversion in house before importing to ca. So I got rid of my g17 and don't plan on doing any further business with them.

Why did you get rid of your G17?

Didn't like the grip angle.

Ahhh...I read it as having something to do with Lone Wolf's refusal to send a bare frame.

I have one of the first AAA series and like the grip angle with the small palm swell insert. The straight insert while more like the 1911, tends to torque during recoil, where the small bump lessens that IMO.

I'm glad you guys are considering the Timberwolf frame.

It has taken us awhile to gather all the parts to get the frames into CA.

We built a special 9" barrel for the G17/22 to get past the 10.5" overall dimensions.

We also came up with a fixed magazine that cannot accept rounds. It will be fixed into the grip via a setscrew through the mag release.

We got some slides in so we are getting closer to shipping to CA.

I'll try to keep everyone up to date as much as I can.

BTW.. we just got some prototypes of the G19/23 Timberwolf and all I can say is WOW.. we'll have to make a long barrel for that one too.
