Caught this guy the other day. They sure are cute when they are young. Pretty behaved to. Wish it was legal to keep them.
The customer was very happy.

Baxter, It's not legal to keep Coyotes? Any idea why and what will you do with that little guy?

That is too cool, I have always wanted a coyote for a pet. That guy is probably a little too old though. I've seen footage of a few people that have had them as pets, too friggin cool. I'd love to have one just to show up at the monthly varmint club meetings with it, those guys would snap.

I had 3 within 60 yards today. Guess I should not have left the rifle in the truck......

I didn't keep it. Had to abide by the state laws. It did pretty good on a leash though.
The last one I got a week ago was about the same size but crippled.
As far as catching it, it was. Chased, then it tried to hide in a bush and grabbed it.
I wish I had video of me chasing a raccoon down a street in Oceanside and grabbing by the tail. I would have used my catch pole but there was already a coon on it. Coons sure are fast.

I think I don't want to hear the end of this story.

Come on Arron we all know coons are only fast when someone is chasing them.

Congrats on the hand catch I think. You must be like wildman/turtleman with the hand catching thing especially when it is a healthy adult coon. The ADC guys only have to dispatch a critter when it is caught in a trap, if they catch it with their hands they can let it go.
It is illegal to keep a wild coyote as a pet without a permit.

Tony it doesnt matter if it is caught by hand or trap. What Warden is going to believe the story when he catches a guy relocating an animal. If you are a trapper you cannot relocate.
Release on-site or put it down on-site. My Warden gives some lee way for the on-site provision regarding euthanizing critters.
I try not to handle coons by hand put I can't let the prize get away. Opossum on the other hand are the easiest one by hand.

I'd rather see a video of you chasing and catching a skunk by the tail. :D

Your still crazy for catching a wild raccoon with your hands .They have the aggressiveness to take on hound dogs .

Bwahahaha...skunks really aren't all that fast. Of the 5 I killed during furbearer season (even though skunks are year round), 4 of them I chased down within about 5 feet. That's all the closer I felt like getting, even in my waders, to shoot 'em. Coon are quick too, but you can tree them just as easily as a dog can.
