Trying to figure the regs to combine with pics I see posted.

Tree squirrels are considered resident small game and have closed counties and seasons, but is my reading of

472. General Provisions.
Except as otherwise provided in Sections 478 and 485 and subsections (a) through (d) below, nongame birds and mammals may not be taken.
* (a) The following nongame birds and mammals may be taken at any time of the year and in any number except as prohibited in Chapter 6: English sparrow, starling, coyote, weasels, skunks, opossum, moles and rodents (excluding tree and flying squirrels, and those listed as furbearers, endangered or threatened species).

So if it is a true ground squirrel its open season all year?

I would tony, I just have to find a spot. I try to research what I can and then use the hive mind.

We had great times shooting them in the northern portion of Los Padres NF, but that was quite a few years ago and not exactly in your neck of the woods.

Yeah the non lead in condor zone doesn't really make them worth shooting. I mean a ground squirrel shouldn't cost a $1 a shot.
