I like the low cost of the hi point firearm and their great warrenty but I know that in order to buy pistol ammo you have to be 21. Can I still buy a carbine that shoots pistol ammo? Also though hi point is know as a "junk gun" company how do the cal guns members who own a hi point carbine like them?

The Hi-point carbines actually have a lot better reputation than their handguns and are quite popular.

The legal age to buy a rifle, any rifle, is 18 regardless of what kind of ammunition it can take. I think most stores will sell ammo to you if you tell them it is for a rifle. When I had a pistol caliber carbine and was under 21, the indoor ranges who checked me in with a rifle never gave me grief over being under 21. If your outside LA (or the other ultra-commie cities) just order it online.

But I live in La County so would it be ok if one of my parents bought the ammo for me?
