I am looking at replacing my stock for my Weatherby Vanguard .223 (Howa 1500 action). The rifle is used for target shooting and small game out to a few hundred yards or so, it is fitted with a Nikon 4.5 - 14X scope.

My first choice is the Knoxx Axiom, but I'd like some feedback from people who have experience with them. Aluminum pillar bedding, free floated barrel, adjustable length of pull.

My other choice is one that I know will be good, a Bell and Carlson Medalist Varmint stock. Aluminum pillar bedded.

Both run $200 to $250. Any input will be appreciated.

I've had a lot of experience with the B&C stocks (various configurations), and a bit of experience with the Blackhawk/Knoxx Axiom. That being said, I prefer the B&C.

Not a Varmint but gives you an idea?
