Wife and I are thinking about heading up this Sunday for a day trip. I've done some looking into and it seems dam and surrounding area is the place to fish? We'll have the dogs with us so it may just be shore fishing this trip. Any other suggestions?

Lake Alpine and Mosquito lakes are a nice easy fish as well.

We've fished Alpine but not Mosquito. Spicer is a new adventure for us.

Decent fishing at Spicer right now. Much tougher on Highlands Creek. Good luck!

Well we got there today and the weather was perfect. I forgot the worms in the frig so i threw some power bait. No luck.

Found a grasshopper and stuck on hook. This is what I came home with...

Don't know what happened but my St. Croix rod snapped. End of day.

We checked out Utica and Union and then headed home.

The rod is covered by their warranty. I'll be back in the water shortly. :)

Ugly Stick is my favorite. You can also find some good fishing gear at low prices at the Flea Market at Delta College on Sat and Sun.

Worms/floating powerbait on same hook I've found works the best for those lakes up Hwy 4.

Spinning lures work real well on the Browns in Alpine when you can find holes they are in.
