I'm about 90% done with my AR build, as far as customizing goes. Next step is going to be a muzzle device, and I've been interested in the AAC Blackout. I feel the 51T MITER looks the best aesthetically, but what's the real difference with the MITER mount? The only thing I've been able to deduce is that it slips over the barrel some, allowing you to mount your suppressor farther back to reduce your OAL.

Aside from it looking better to me, is there any reason to go with the 51T MITER over the 18T or 51T?

sounds like you got it figured out.

I put a 51T miter on my scar just so I can look Tier1

Since I cannot have a CAN, I went with a Wilson Combat.

right on. the reason im considering the mounts over the non-mount FH is there is some chance i will be moving to oregon in the next couple years. if so, suppressors are #1 on my to do list. i also (regardless of if i move) will be there quite often to shoot with people who DO have access to suppressors

You'll find most of those with AAC suppressors prefer the brakeout muzzle device because it acts as a sacrificial piece for the suppressor. It erodes away and diminishes the erosion of the blast chamber.

The mounts and teeth are different. The miter has an adjustable property to shift POI. The important thing is to match your mount with your friend's cans. If their can takes a miter, get a miter, if it takes a 51T (which it probably does if purchased somewhat recently) then get a 51T.
