Does anyone own an SKS and have used the tapco stock system? MY SKS is Russian and wanted to know if anyone had experience with this system, seems some variants are harder to install than others.

It should fit.Why bubba a Russian?Keep all the orignal parts and get a different gas tube because the pin is a mother to drive out.Buy a after market gas tube and keep the old one in tack.

I agree. Keep it stock man. It just works better. I tried it on my yugo SKS and didn't work for me. But just trying to help.

Don't do it.

But if you do, you will need to comply with Federal laws and change out Russian made parts with American made parts.
Research Fed 922r parts compliance.

Also, if you do it, you will be lowering the value on the Russian SKS, because they are worth more stock.

i this it is justice when someone puts a $50 stock on a sks then when they go to sell it its worth $50 less than if they would have just left it alone

Why not just put the stock you like on your gun and not worry what these guys think lol.

Change the stock, paint it pink camo who cares ? It's your rifle , there are many like it , but that one is yours. :)

i will admit that the sks has a tad short stock this item is worth buying

its easy to install and remove and you can still get to the cleaning kit
