Thinking about buying a Roedale muzzle break for my Rem 700 SPS Tactical 308. Has anyone here ever used or even seen one, if so, what did you think of it?

No experience with the Roedale brake, but I have used a similar version made in the US by Darkmetal Design. Very effective brake, easy to install and easily the best brake I've used for prone shooting from a bipod.

I believe the primary difference is the Roedale doesn't require threads to install.

Hmmm or doesn't it need threads? Is this a clamp on? If so I want one.

I have a dark metal on my mega Ma ten, Love it.

I believe Darkmetal will also make a clamp on version without threads for non tapered barrels. Not too many Remingtons come with sttraight tapered barrels though, so that may not work.

This is the DM brake on a 308 (copy of roedale) compared to a braked 15 freehand.

Appriciate the info. Checked out the darkmetal one & it looks bad ***. Is urs threaded on bcuz on their website it said they thread on then clamp down & I was trying to save myself from permanently modifying the barrel.

I ordered two Roedale breaks, and they work good. They are clamp on. Just make sure to clamp them down good and tight. They do take a very long time to arrive from Germany. Both are on R700.

They make a good threaded brake as well- I run a couple of them in 5/8-24 TPI. Takes a few weeks to get the, after ordering, but they are good/effective brakes.

The one on eBay sold by darkmetal requires a threaded barrel. Just verified. I like the roedale but can't justify putting a $250 brake on a $500 rifle. Anyone know of a cheaper brake alternative?
