SOTA. the only problem I've had with them has been their 7.62x39 bolts, and everyone but LMT (and maybe Superbolt) have had bolts break.

Midway had the DPMS Oracles for $379 I believe. It is the slick sided model, flat top, without forward assist.I do not think that price can be beat.I have been using other DPMS stuff for 15 years.Quality has been very good.

Don't worry, those are their regular prices.

I'm really curious about them, I'm hoping someone who's had experience with them chimes in.

I noticed that some of their prices have actually been going down. I think they just don't have a good marketing department, if they have one.

Quality parts and best bang for the buck for around $300 (no BCG or Charging handle).

Glad I could help. Let us know how it turns out.

I'm hopping they might be another good affordable alternative like PSA or BCM. From what I've read they make great FALs.

PSA is not only out of everything, but even if they werent their uppers are more expensive....

Where locally can i get an upper for $375? shoot me the adress and ill cancel my order and go buy one. If your talking about the marketplace ive been looking for months, only 2 have come up that ive seen and they were sold almost instantly. Plus it would be used, im getting a brand new one....

If it works out $514.65 is really impressive, thats getting into WASR territory.

What kind of complete lower are you using, is it a Plum Crazy/New Frontier?

Yeah, its a new frontier, and i dros'd 4 of them on the same charge so really the $25 should be split 4 ways.

I mated it to another upper i have and the fit was extremely tight. Looking forward to playing with my new toy

"Excuse me, while I whip this out"

PSA, you can't buy nothin' from them. So they can have great prices, but you won't be able to take advantage of them. Same thing with Midway on certain items; always out of stock.

I have a 300Blackout upper on order from DSA, it's about half the price of all the other 300Blackout uppers out there. Should be here in time for Labor day, I can wait to save $300-500.

I have a SOTA Arms 16" 5.56 SS upper that runs great... Shoots wolf like a champ and as accurate as I can get it at 200 yards (I'm not the best rifleman yet)... Cost was $389...

Just bought an upper from vytamenc22 here on CGN... I'll just say that he will be getting my uppers business from here on out... Me and my buddy between the two of us just scored four uppers from him and they are good quality for great price! He's not in the OC, but he's not too far from you Markdoddridge...

Whoops, i was looking at their complete rifle build kits with uppers. Those are almost all out of stock.

PSA has been great, I ordered a bunch of stuff during their sale.

The only bad part about PSA is the shipping lead time. Took them 9 days to ship a couple in stock parts, and it's been 20 days since I ordered my complete upper and STILL no email saying it's even left yet.

My vote is for jse surplus, if you're looking for an inexpensive upper. They have complete uppers for around $400.

Update:

Placed my order with DSA on Saturday and recieved a confirmation email. Today i get another email saying its backordered, so i called them to see how long it will be and i get an automated message during business hours asking me to leave a message.

Ill try them again in a bit, except this time ill just cancel the order.

Checked out JSE Surplus, cant seem to find any $400 uppers in stock

DSA is a lost cause at the moment. Huge wait-time for their uppers. I canceled my DSA order and placed an order for a PSA M4 Madness upper on the 19th. Just got the tracking number yesterday.

Ordered 3 uppers from DSA in April. canceled 2 of 3, still waiting on the 1 left. it is a blackout upper for a friend, or it would have been canceled with the other 2. Got my upper with Vortex strikefire in from PSA and already put 100 rounds through it. Great prices there coupled with good quality and service.

I'd definitely vote PSA. If you don't want to go the PSA route, BCM occasionally has 16in uppers for 299. I believe theres usually an option to add BCG for 110 more. So not quite under 400 bucks but pretty close.

That's sucks to hear. I'm sorry for suggesting them. Guess the price was too good to be true. I've found several threads on DSA since that weekend and although people have been satisfied with their uppers, it seems they have a continuing problem with back orders and delayed shipping.

If it makes you feel any better, I ordered a 20" Madness from Palmetto back on the 8th and it still hasn't shipped. I emailed them on the 21st, this is what they wrote back: Your order has not been shipped, orders containing uppers take approximately 15 business days to manufacture.

It was a solid reccomendation, those uppers were exactly what i was looking for. Just too bad they are out of stock, they did answer the phone this afternoon and cancelled my order without a problem though

+1 for JSE.

Recently assisted a friend with ordering an upper, 1 week from placement of the order, to his front door.

You ordered a PSA upper on the 19th and it shipped a week later? That ticks me off, I ordered my upper from PSA on the 4th and it still hasn't shipped, and they say it won't ship for another week. Getting very tired of waiting....

I just went through this process a few days ago. I did a lot of research (right before Google killed online gun-related shopping). I went with a 20" PSA upper without BCG ($299 shipped). I'll be going with BCM or Wilson for the BCG.
Check out SOTA before you buy one. I haven't read anything good.
PSA is the best value, IMO.

I hate to bring bad news but I've had a 16" mid-length on order with DSA since mid April. I still don't have a ship date and they didn't respond to my last email. Ordered a similar upper from PSA late April and had it about 4 weeks later. Cost more but at least I got it. Been real happy with it so far. If the DSA ever ships I guess I have an excuse to build another rifle.
