View Full Version : What should my next riffle be?

I just bought a Ruger 10/22 but I think I'm the kind of girl that needs more firepower, thinking of .223 or maybe 7.62x39?

Any suggestions?

P.S. I am trying to keep it under a $1000 and keep in mind that I will probably only ever use it at the range.

I'm with cebuvfr, I'd go AR15. It's a nice step up from the 10/22.

If you can find one get a S&W M&P15 Sport

buy this:
http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/ar-15-05/rifle-kits/16-mid-length-lighter-weight-profile-chrome-lined-mp-rifle-kit.html

then go to your LGS and buy a stripped lower and a BB and have an AR for $750, spend the rest on an Aimpoint PRO or ammo

What ever rifle you buy spend your extra money on ammo not 10 billion accessories

Those are the Lays chips, but Riffles have ridges right?

Ruger Mini 14. Light, reliable, and the new ones are quite accurate. If you want an AR style rifle the S&W M&P is very nice, as others have stated in this thread. Have fun!

Most will chime in with what they own, which is obviously the AR.

Maybe consider a 9mm pistol caliber carbine? I owned a Beretta Cx4 once and everybody liked shooting it cause it was a fun weapon. If you're only going to shoot at the range, it's a great weapon to shoot offhand or benched out to 100 yards, handy as hell at 5-lbs, and very little recoil.

ARs are so commonplace and banal ... hated it in the military & don't care to own one as a civilian.

The easiest fastest way to do that, is to practice a lot, and become real accurate!
