Excellent. IMHO the key to a quality rig is mainly in the bolt carrier and barrel.

The "Hammer-Forged" barrels are from FN and from what I've found over at AR15.com the standard 1/7 CL CMV barrels are from Wilson, but I have no confirmation on that.

BTW, I ordered one of those $299 20" uppers on the 7th, and they sure are taking their time sending it out :toetap05: If I don't hear from them by the end of this week I'm calling them.

I'd give them a call. I ordered a Lower Parts Kit from (currently in transit) and it took 6 business days to ship.

Palmetto uppers are GTG and everything from them takes awhile to ship so expect it.

Great uppers. I have a LMT, RRA, and 2 PSA uppers and i perfer my PSA uppers. I have a PSA 20 inch SS FN marked barrel upper and a mid length light profile upper. Both have been super accurate and dependable. Cant really beat the price for what you get.

They are having free shipping on everything on their website right now so makes the deal even better.

FYI it takes them 15 days to assemble the uppers before they ship it out. Given that they are backed up with orders they said to wait an additional 5 days before your orders are shipped

the 20" $299 barrel looks more and more appealing every day.

Sorry to thread hijack, but can i just use my BCG/charging handle from my carbine upper on it?

If your carbine has high mileage on it I would use a new bolt for a new upper. The carrier and charging handle are GTG...

Now if they'd only get the midlength dissipator uppers (http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/ar-15-05/complete-uppers/psa-16-hammer-forged-midlength-dissipator.html) back in stock...

I'd be all:

I got one of the $299 20" uppers last week, haven't shot it yet though. I was a little surprised the upper doesn't have the white T marks, just engraved and anodized over. Although the upper has the same square forge marking my BCM upper has.

Possibly a blemish run or something? Overall it looks great and everything else went together nicely.

The HF chrome lines barrels are made by FN (My dissy is marked as such) and the rest of the barrels are of excellent quality as well, but I don't know who makes them. I also want to say that FN makes their BCG... not 100% sure though

Did the 20" upper come with a government profile barrel?

Did the 20" upper come with a government profile barrel?

here's what I see on their site:

Barrel: 20" Chrome-lined, chrome moly vanadium. Chambered in 5.56 NATO, with a 1/7 twist, M4 barrel extension, and a rifle-length gas system. The modified A2-style profile barrel is high pressure tested and magnetic particle inspected and then phosphate coated to mil-specs. Barrel is finished off with an F-marked front sight post with sling swivel, standard handguards and an A2 flash hider.

Upper: Forged 7075-T6 A3 AR upper is hard coat anodized black for durability. Featuring M4 feedramp cuts, T-marks, but no logo, these upper upper receivers are made for us right here in the USA.

hth (I don't know what a "modified A2-style profile" is)...I think like this?

Thanks for the clarification. I wasn't too sure what the description meant by "modified A2-style profile".

I can't disclose any information on them. However, all of our CHF barrels are made for us by FN, and have our rollmark on them (which should be mentioned on the description for those uppers). A small quantity of the older ones we sold had their rollmark.

Mine appears to have the same profile as the one in the arfcom link posted above. I'm using mine with a KAC M5 RAS, micro sight, BCM BCG and mod 4 charging handle.

Doesn't seem to be, mine has no FN marking. Someone earlier said Wilson arms made the barrel, but they haven't confirmed. Mine does have a W or M stamped on the barrel right in front of the barrel nut.

Correction: we recently had a very small quantity of midlength CHF barrels that are FN marked instead of our rollmark.

Mine does have a W or M stamped on the barrel right in front of the barrel nut.

It's an "M" that is a proof mark for magnetic particle inspection.
