Hello Fellow Calgunner,

Question; Do i need a fishing license or permit to go to the beach for grunion/runion?

Thank you very much.

were all the "yes" answers not good enough on the other thread you started?

First response on your original post:

"All that is needed to catch grunion is a valid State fishing license and a willingness to get one's feet wet."

Did you forget about your other post from yesterday?

I can't find my other post that's why.

Isn't that one of Murphy's Laws? Ask a question enough times and eventually you'll get the answer you want?;)

Here's the link to the Fishing Permit thread and my answer:

You don't need to purchase a fishing license if you take a bunch of 15 year olds and younger, let them go at it they donít need a fishing license. That's how a couple of my uncles did it, that was back in the 60's and 70's and that's not illegal as long as nobody 16 years of age or older participates.

Thx Tony,

Me and my wife wants to take the kids to the beach for grunion my son is 13 and my daughter is 9 just to let them experience it. So we don't need to get a fishing license if only my kids will catch the fish?

No you don't need a license if the kids are catching the fish, but you or your wife can't help the kids either.
