Got here 1/2 hour early, went to take a number and got one in the low 300's. There's cars parked up and down the streets as far as you can see. Probably not going to get that case of 9mm I was after but I already drove over an hour to get here so I'll stick it out.

Sounds like 2008 again.

The annual day-before fathers day sale at MilWal in Grass Valley... A tradition and a trial, but worth it!

WOW, half hour and already in the 300s. I wonder what time folks started showing up. Best of luck OP - keep us posted on the $$$.

Really? I could go through 5k of .22 in a week of range trips.

maybe 200 - 500 of 9mm per trip - on the high end that would 10 range trips a year.

I was pretty disappointed with prices. Their reloads were more than jack Ross plus tax, 223 was on par with anything mail order. Combine that with a huge wait and I was less than enthused.

Good to know. Note to self; Skip the gun show in July. Save $ on parking/admission. Save hours of wait time and dealing with crowds. Order ammo online, let it come to me, be happy!

Miwall Corp. WAREHOUSE SALE!!

Miwall Corp. Annual Warehouse Sale

13235 Grass Valley Ave

Grass Valley, CA 95945

Hours 9-4 SAT 9-3 SUN

I went a few years ago (2007?), around 11AM or so, was able to get a parking space less than a hundred yards away (Lucky!). Waited in line half an hour or so to get in the building. About an hour of slow, jammed butt to belly, shuffling crowd to get the items on my list, about an hour in line to check out. Probably saved about a $100 on $500 worth of stuff compared to online. About the same as their gun show sales except wider selection.

I'm not willing to wait so much now, life is too short. It's not worth it to me to stand around waiting.

I really like shopping online for good deals, cheap or no cost shipping when you can find it. The thrill of the Big Brown Truck of Joy stopping in front of my house and the guy has to get out the hand truck to haul my stuff to the front door.

My understanding is that basically they sell out of the Warehouse but the prices are the same as they are at the gun shows.

I only waited about an hour before I gave up. I saw alot of ammo coming out of there and I figured after 300 shoppers I probably wouldn't find what I was after (9mm/5.56 of course) I talked to a few people there and they said the prices weren't anything spectacular. I'll stick with online ordering. I wish id seen that flyer earlier though, the .17 hmr looked like a deal and I may have found some 5.7x28 at a reasonable price.

9mm reload was $170/1000
.40 was $190/1000
.223 brass-cased was $140/500
Plus 7.375% tax

I was there a few hours early and wasn't the first in line. All I wanted was a few cases of 9mm, was happy with what I got

helps living about 10 minutes away :)

I despise crowds and waiting; don't care how good the prices may be.

I didn't find the sale or the wait worth it.

I guess I didn't take them literally when they say it's a "Warehouse Clearance Sale". Arrived at 9:45AM, got a number in the 500's, and didn't get in until 1:00PM.

When I got in, I realized they weren't kidding. It is just that, a warehouse clearance sale. They weren't too interested in selling good ammo at sale prices -- they just wanted to clear out stuff they had lots of stock or stuff that don't sell too well.

I am a hunter and I was looking for semi-premium ammo. All I found were low-end ammo in the common calibers and some mid-level premium ammo in oddball calibers. Even then, prices weren't that great -- still higher than online and only one or two dollars less than the stores. And there is no discounts for volume purchases. I still came out with a couple hundred rounds, mind you (to justify the long drive). :cool2:

Will I be going back next year? It is a definite NO.

I was there on Saturday. I had no idea it was going to take hours to get in, but I had to justify the drive from Sac. Otherwise I'd still wasted the gas and walked away with nothing. The prices were not something to text home about, but now I can pass on the gun show in July. I saw a lot of folks preparing for the Zombie Apocalypse or November 2012... whichever comes first. I wonder if all the better deals were gone by end of Saturday. Any Sunday shoppers find any great deals?

I had a different experience. Showed up yesterday at 11:00, ran into one of my hunting buddies, walked right in, milled around for 40 minutes or so checking things out, grabbed what I wanted and checked out with about a 5 minute wait at the registers.

Prices were fair, and some were better than mail order. I found some hard-to-find stuff I needed (.32 LC, .38 S&W - not SPL-), got some .45, 30-30, 9mm, and of course, .22lr. My only disappointment was that 20g, 16g and .410 were pretty much sold out. If I didn't live in town, I probably wouldn't travel for it.
