o.k. I read the calguns discussion on this and the form to mail in. i will be getting several guns from my father. The CA DOJ form has space and instructions for three plus handguns for a one time fee of 19 dollars. The calguns discussion says 1 hand gun in a thirty day period. http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showpost.php?p=7506625&postcount=15 or did i read this wrong. several times. That is where I am confused or did I read to much into it. This and I just opened DROS on another handgun.

Do I need to wait 30 days to send DOJ form in. (because I just opened DROS
on a different handgun)
Do I need to wait 30 days for each handgun I am receiving from father. ( If I
believe the DOJ form , I do not.)

The discussion you linked to is about a family transfer coming from out of state. Those have to go through a California licensed dealer, so they are subject to the 1 per 30 day restriction.

But if both family members are California residents then they don't have to use a dealer. They can just use the form that you have. Since there is no dealer involvement you don't have to worry about the 1 per 30 day restriction.

Intrafamilial transfers of HAND GUNS:

- require filing a form and paying a fee – one fee for all guns transferred at one time.
- are exempt from the Roster (even if interstate)
- are exempt from the ‘1 in 30 days’ rule (even if interstate)
- are exempt from the requirement that the receiver be 21 years old (they must only be 18 years old for intrastate transfers, 21 for interstate)

Hmm. FAQ version is wrong.

No limit on the number you can transfer all at once then. If you have more than three just print up more forms and attach them to the first form. The $19 fee covers any number of handguns.
