Looking good. Good job on the 80% lower, too. What kind of mill did you use?

@trob Hopefully an Acog in the future.

@nick an old Bridgeport at my relatives. I come from a line of machinists. Both my brother and I took night classes in machining when we were in high school.

@FX-05 Xiuhcoatl would rather build multiple 1911's. One for the nightstand, one for the truck, one for the backpack, one for the cereal box, one for the toilet, and so on.:D

I want to do a build out of a 80% also. I don't have my own mill, but I do plan on hitting up Ares Armor.

Got back from the range. Only took 60 rounds of Lake City 223 55gr FMJ reloads and stayed for one cease fire. Got her zeroed at 50 yards doing 3-5 shot groups. Finally did two 10 round rapid fire tests and called it a day. One failure to feed when releasing the bolt catch, but she just needs to be broken in. The YHM flip up sights worked fine, just wished the rear sight had an elevation knob.

Here is the pic of the two 10 round rapid fire at 50 yards that I finished the day with.

Will update when I get some glass on her. :D

Nice! Does South bay rod and gun allow rapid fire with no membership?

@chrisf I don't see why not. They'er pretty lenient. I've seen people stand next to their bench and rapid shoot. Just use the hanging dividers so that you brass don't fall in the shirts of the shooters using the bench. Also when I said rapid shot groups. I meant boot camp style, one shot per sec.
