Wow I'm super surprised that I don't already see a thread on this topic...

Today is voting day.

Many anti-gun county supervisors are up for reelection. Go vote for the other person!

The ballot was HUGE! :D

FYI, News stations around the SF Bay Area and Fresno county are talking about low voter turnout. tragic.

stupid question, and I'm terribly embarrassed to ask but I figure asking here would be just as quick as googling... if I am an absentee voter, does my ballot have to be timestamped by today? So if I get off work, fill out my ballot, but it doesn't get to the post office in time, I'm SOL?

I heard the Fresno Registrar talk about this on KMJ580 Fresno yesterday.

It has to be post marked before 8:00 p.m. today and already through the post
office process by then. so yeah.

I believe you may be able to drop it off at a polling station if you're home. Seek out the election officer.

obDisclaimer: I am not an election official or expert of any kind...I'm just passing on what I heard.

Voted today in the SFV. While I was there, tally was Republicans 4, Democrats 0.

Kinda like the Kings game :43:

Did it...

Just a reminder.. The polls are really busy, so things are staggered this year. If you're voting Republican, go today. If you're voting Democrat, you have to wait until tomorrow.

Just got back from voting.

Went to my normal place. All the workers there looked bored out of their mind. I was the only voter there. Turns out they moved my polling place and I had to go to a different one.

I get to the new polling place. Again, totally dead. Here the workers are talking about it be a very slow day, terrible turn out and how much more exciting November will be.

Any idea on when we will get the results?

I bet it would be a cool thing if EVERYONE voted. Seeing total votes numbering in the 33 million would be a crazy thing.

Decided to drop my ballot off and teach my son the importance of voting (show him what its like, etc.)

He's a little shooter and when I told him that voting for the wrong person might result in us no longer going shooting, he was pretty upset. He said, "Why would anyone want to take away our guns? It's not like the bad guys would give up their guns." I was very proud.

I went earlier today, one of the polling workers said I was only the sixty-ninth voter at that particular place (so far, that was around 1PM) Turnout seems really low, especially here in Sacramento.

Prop 29 lost with a close fight.

As of this morning, it's behind by only 60,000 votes, with over 200,000 mail-in ballots yet to be counted.

We might still win this one.

Correction - nearly 800,000 ballots still to be counted, and that's just in the nine largest counties.

A Bee survey showed nearly 800,000 uncounted votes in just nine of the state's 58 counties:

Los Angeles County..........................162,008
San Diego County.............................135,000
Orange County.................................113,119
Riverside County................................49,200
San Bernardino County......................29,800
Santa Clara County................86,600-96,600
Alameda County.................................61,100
Sacramento........................................ 84,000
San Francisco County........................31,000

Still counting ballots, and Prop 29 continues to narrow the gap. Over a million ballots were uncounted on election night, that number is now around 430,000. There has got to be a better system - this is not the only race in the state hanging on a razor-thin margin.
