So Attened a great Build party last week and this is how it turned out. Question though I didnt buy a reinforcement plate for the grip. I dont think its then end of the world but if anyone could tell me if its something I really need I make something work

Congratulations. the plate is not really needed.

I think we can pop a couple holes in the plate and plug weld it. We can do a little touch up with some cold blue if it hurts the finish. Let me Know I'm in Roseville too. Kinda looks like you guys got the part tank running better on day two. Oh well next time. :D

As Mach says, don't worry about it. IIRC the plate was incorporated into the design for the underfolders because it would sometimes be fired with the stock in the folded position. With the grip absorbing the full force of recoil when thus fired, there was an increased potential to shear the grip off the receiver. The reinforcement plate rectifies that issue, but in your CA-compliant locked magazine configuration, the stock can't fold anyways. I wouldn't be too concerned.

looks good, how did you finish the metal

I just put an extended brake on mine so I could fold it and went with the echo 93 single point sling plate which is pretty much a reinforcement plate too. Something to think about. Great looking Ak
