So I let me wife shoot my Winchester M1 carbine a few years ago and ever since then it has been hers. I wanted it back so I put together a replacement for her. The only concern that she had was that it be as light as the M1. So after a few months of gathering parts and a few test runs I think its done, accept maybe a forward sling mount. If she doesn’t like it I will.

Equipment list.

BB of course
New old stock DD upper I picked up on calguns
Spike’s lower
Matech BUIS
PSA Lower parts kit with MOE grip and stock.
RRA two stage national match trigger ( the trigger in the kit was awfull, even after working on it for a few hours)
Aimpoint Pro
Sandstorm adjustable, convertible single point sling
H2 buffer (much less snap compared to the standard buffer)
BCM charging handle (she had a hard time pulling back the charging handle, this should help)

That’s basically it, now she has to try it out, after I sight it in again :)

what kind of sling do you have on there?

what was your estimated cost to build? That's a very nice AR that you built for your wife there.

The rifle as it is came to about $1140, not including a couple of shipping costs, the Aimpoint is $400 from BCM so $1540 total for a nice rifle with no cheap junk.

The sling is from sandstormcustomrifleslings.com, they give a 10% discount to calguners.

a nice rifle with no cheap junk.

But if you get it right the first time, you just lost your excuse to build "her" another one...

You might want to consider a few well designed flaws, just sayin'

That is a VERY nice rifle you have there, sir. I especially like how it's not decked out in pink.
