New to shooting and just put a Sig P2022 .40 on my 10 day wait, live in Roseville. Cant wait to get my gun out and go, guess I just busy myself for the next week and a half so I don't worry about it.

Anyone got range recommendations that are local?

Hello from Sacramento, and congrats on the new purchase~! Most people in the area got to Sac Valley (http://www.sacvalley.org/) or Cordova Shooting Center (http://www.cordovashootingcenter.com/) to shoot.

There are a few ranges, Sac Vally, Cordova Shooting Center, The Gun Room, Lincoln. If you wanted you could even go to Spenceville by Camp Far West just depends on how far you want to drive to shoot.

Welcome to Calguns!

I prefer outdoor, but if you're completely new to firearms you may want to head to an organized range with paid range officers and such.

Been to The Gun Room once as my fist/only pistol shooting experience. I think personally about an hour drive is my limit for a normal day trip. My daily work/live/play triangle is about 5 miles, I have a low tolerance for driving unless its a dedicated trip.

Thanks for all the recommendations, I guess now I start the Tour De Range to pick a favorite.

Give the Dillman range in Lincoln a try, it's clean, safe and $10/day to shoot.
