So I'm getting an OLL rifle and I need to be educated on the pro's and con's of the different bullet button choices. Are there many different styles? What features make one better than another? And any info you think may be useful.

Thanks in advance!
Keith

I like the radlock just because you can unscrew it and make it into a regular mag release. But when screw down all the way its a bullet button...

Either you go featureless or radlock for AR setups

There are either regular bullet buttons, and radlocks. There aren't a whole lot of options.

Featureless. I don't care how my guns look, I care how they function.
YMMV

Raddlock. Easy on, easy off! Features?! The only feature that they all have is not the one you want, its keeping you from releasing your bullet holders easy!

I like the Bullet Button because there is no way to accidentally make yourself a felon by leaving your screw undid or allowing a shady cop to unscrew your device and claim it was already like that. If I really want to have a detachable magazine, I just use my featureless rifles.

How about a bullet button convertible? is that the same as a rad lock? Picked one up for the new Smithy M&P 15. Is it going to be considered like the Mag Magnet in that its going to be banned?

Convertible mag releases are a sham. If I'm going to another state to shoot, I'm taking the extra *gasp!* 30 seconds to install a regular mag release when I'm there.

It might be. We have to wait until it passes to know.

Personally, I don't like the convertable. I would rather just have a regular BB and a Wonder Wrench for out of state travel.

I'm with him. Why risk it?

Raddlock all the way. I love the fact that with just a few turns it becomes a regular mag release for trips to free states. I've put a couple thousand round through my AR and haven't had any problems with it un-screwing itself, and I don't ever un-screw it while in state. Personally, I'm not too paranoid about "shady" LE.
