Hi,
wonder what the story with the benelli M1 S90 is. its starting to get hard to find the tube extentions for a reasonable price? are they trying to ban or stop selling semi auto shotguns? just wonder what the word on the street is and if there is and docs supporting any of that.
Per our Benelli sales rep. Benelli was asked by the ATF not to import any more tube extensions for their shotguns. There are after market tubes available Daves Metal Works makes tube for them. He has or will make tubes any length to hold up to 10 rounds. Tubes come with a spring and follower.
DMW also makes other parts for Benelli and Remington shotguns.

I bet if ATF knew Benelli would roll over so easy, they'd have just asked them to just stop importation of the entire shotgun altogether.
As for the 922(r), if it were really such an issue, then why is Benelli still openly sponsoring Tom Knapp and Tim Bradley with their extended magazine tubes??
I don't know the answer to your question about Tom and Tim. I don't know if it is true what the Rep told us.
If you have better info please enlighten us.
They don't sell them anymore and if you want one there's a source.

what they do is none of my concern and shouldn't be your's either- it's the gun owner's responsiblity to follow the law. It's not their job as exhibition shooters to tell you about the law. Benelli hired/sponsor them purely as exhibition shooters to promote their product. Granted, I've seen a few people with ext tubes on their stock looking M1 and it's none of my biz to question the legality of their gun at an open range.
I don't know about your M1 but mine was imported by H&K with a 5 shot tube. As a law abiding gun owner, I have to follow 922r if I want to replace it with a larger capacity mag tube.
as an addendum, Tom Knapp has been at it a long time and he might have one of the earlier imports. I will be at Raahauge's sporting fair this coming June. I will ask Tom Bradley about it.

Thanks for telling me what should be my concern, but I will decide that for myself. My point was not aimed at the shooters, but rather that Benelli is putting themselves in a rather precarious (if not hypocritical) position by paying these gents to promote their product which is configured in a manner they are saying is illegal.
Benelli took very quiet steps to stop sales of these tubes (even for Nova pumps) despite their earlier literature saying they were legal. If it is such a clear cut issue, then Benelli should put a written statement saying so on their site.
Instead, we get this:
"World Record No. 3 - In Murfreesboro, Tennessee, on October 20th, 2004, Tom Knapp set out to make history again. With his 12-ga. Benelli M2 fitted with a ComforTech stock and extended magazine tube, Tom launched ten clay targets into the air with one hand and shot all ten with individual shots in an unbelievable 2.0 seconds."
Somehow I doubt that M2 is gonna be 922(r) compliant like your HK import. I will also be at the fair, and will see if TIM Bradley will comment.
I'll bite what is 922r
federal law regarding the importation of "sporting arms"
more officially it is, 18 USC 922r

US companies have picked up the slack and made some very nice mag extensions. Personally i think they are better than the oem ones.
