Just picked this up off a calguns member today. Always wanted a milsurp, and always loved Springfield 03s, but wanted a gun with practical sights. Owned great milsurps in the past, but persistent issue was always non-adjustable sights. It was finally time for the 1903A3 with adjustable peep sights.

Remington 1903A3 September 1943, muzzle wear gauges less than 1, bore is mirror bright. Stock is serial numbered to the rifle and has "RA FJA", "RIA EB", crossed cannon cartouches as well as another cartouche by the trigger guard that I can't make out. Vintage 1954 web sling.

First impressions: Fit of stock to rifle is excellent, front sight blade is THIN (should be good for match/distance shootin), aperture rear sight is awesome. Bolt is the smoothest of any milsurp I've handled.

Should be a great shooter, might want to get a good smith to do a trigger job as there is a bit of creep, but the trigger is not heavy.

Anyone else own 03a3s? any tips/tricks for the beginner?

Nice! Been through an arsenal inspection and refinish at Rock Island Arsenal (RIA stamp); the ovarll green/gray parkerizing is another sure sign. Leave the trigger alone, it is supposed to be a two stage trigger. The only advice I have other than the trigger is to shoot it and have fun! All of my 03A3s over the years have been accurate shooters. One of these days I will grab one of the 03A3s on GB with a trashed barrel and fit the NOS 03A3 barrel I picked up at Pony Express for $10 when they went out of business.

Ah, thank you! As for the trigger, I like the 2-stage, but I want to clean it up so the 2nd stage doesn't have creep.
