You're better off to buy ammo, parts and accessories on the internet and get your reloading components locally. You used to be able to save a few bucks buying ammo and supplies at the O.C. Gun Show; back when it was $6 to get in an parking was free. These days, you spend $5 to park and $15 admission only to see high prices that I can see for free at the local gun shop.

I stopped going to the gun shows at Costa Mesa. I'd sooner spend an extra 20 bucks supporting my favorite gun shop than to waste it at the gun show.

Just my .02 worth.

You could have bought the MiWall 223 reloads for $275/1K. I'm sure it's all gone by now. There were a ton of guys waiting patiently for that credit card processor.

I guess that's where .223 prices are going. It was 26 cents a round last november.

The prices where not that good. And the majority of the
People working in the booths are ********. But you can
Find some cheap reload .223. I think i saw 300 for
1000 thats out the door. 30 a shot. You can find just
As good of deal online. $20.00 to just get in kinda alot.

Pretty bummed about the yugo 7.62x39 prices. The 480 case went up by 30 dollars since the last show. I too found myself leaving with money in my pocket due to the sticker shock of everything

Anyone see anything worth seeing at the show this weekend?

The show is getting worse and worse. Went yesterday and there was nothing that was worth buying...

I went to the one in Del Mar a few weeks ago. The word "deal" has seemed to have gone the way of the cassette tape. Pricing was standard and sometimes above what you can get elsewhere. Not to mention paying for parking, paying for entry, having to walk a mile to get from parking to the show. The best part was just people watching. That was worth the price of admission right there.

I was thinking of going, last time I got 500 rds of 223 at a show in Vallejo it was $129, that was at the beginning of the year, now it's like $50 more.
For me I have to also add the $5 bridge toll, $7 parking and $10 to get in, not to mention 30 to 40 miles round trip in gas to get there.
So adding a extra $25 to the price is a bit much unless I'm buying a lot of stuff which is getting to be less and less as prices go up and up.

Last brick of 500 for .22 I got cost me $13 at a show and it was about $15 in store sales, now there go for about $21 and up.

I guess the easiest way to get guns off the streets is to make them hard to find something to shoot with.
Need to find a better source to get ammo.

$480???? or 480 rnds?

http://www.wideners.com/itemdetail.cfm?item_id=100000187&dir=18|830|852

1120 round cases / $247.00 / 22 rnd / Do not know what shipping is

Wideners sometimes claim it's in stock when it isn't, though it says it is.

Alternative, drastically more, but less than $480

http://www.southernohiogun.com/military-7-62x39-m67-ammo.html

1260 rounds / $315.00 / 25 rnd /Do not know what shipping is

Looks like Ammoman is out, which sucks, because he had great prices on yugo.

Ah, realize you were talking about rnds in case, read too quickly. How much was a 480 rnd case of yugo going for before it jumped $30?

I just need a N frame gun grip....can't decided if I should go and see if they're selling or just buy online and save the trip and admission.

The only thing at the show that was priced good was powder and primers. A 1 pound bottle of varget is about $28 at ammo bros. at the show it was 19.99. Primers were about $10 cheaper per 1k also.

ok, I just came back. Here is what I found for the best deals on .223/5.56

PMC factory .223 $309/1000 + tax (Best Deal in the Show IMO)
PMC factory 5.56 $369/1000 + tax

Unknown Name factory reloads 5.56 $279/800 - The guy told me these were some russian brand and shoots great?

PMU (Korean Brand Reloads) .223 $279/1000 - Again, the guy told me it shoots great with no jams. I inspected the relaods, looks really clean.

Most all the Federal/Lake City factory ammo was pretty much same price or more than what you can get online.

Hope this helps.

From the way you all describe buying ammo from the shows is no real different than if one went to the local gun store. It's obvious were still in an ammo shortage and if you all read the Wall street Journal you won't see any light at the end of the tunnel this year.

Went to OC show for first time yesterday... It's much better than Del Mar... No mad dash to the ammo vendors with 30 min wait... Seemed to be better selection... Lots of not-made-of-American-parts uppers though!

Used to be $99.00 for a case of 480 rounds. And yesterday it was 129.00

It could be a "suggested" shortage and demand is just up because of all the hoopla of election and doomsday (or doomsday election lol)... It seemed to me there was just tons of ammo... Last Del Mar Crossroads I went to in Mar the brass .223/5.56 was sold out on day one.. Yet, this OC Crossroads in Jun seemed to be plentiful..?

those suspicious uppers at the show are really spreading, any of you guys bought those off brand uppers? and if so are they any worse than a delton or dpms.

ps
im also angry at the price increase of ammo these days, i might go back into archery if prices continue to increase

Man am I glad I stocked up last year! Last gun show I went to in OC last year I bought 1k rds of PMC XTAC 5.56 for $289 at LAX and I was trying to talk him down because I had bought some the month before at their parking lot sale for $275!

I think it would be better to pay a little bit more for a del-ton/dpms/PSA than go with sketchy uppers. A lifetime warranty is a million times better than a 1 year warranty.

For the first time going it was pretty good for me, go in for 14 bucks and didnt have to pay for parking cause I parked where the swap meet was going on...one thing i did get that im pretty stoked about is the "jumping target" you cant beat it for 50 bucks!!

Yeah those uppers were pretty sketchy. These vendors had point of contact if anything happens either. No thanks.
