Just wanted to say 'hey' from Mono County. I just purchased my first handgun (Kahr Arms, CW9), and this seems like a great place/community to get involved with. I would like to get proficient in self-defense techniques and eventually apply for my CCW.

I've traditionally voted far-right, Conservative, Republican, but these days I would consider myself to be more of an Independent/Libertarian/Tea Partier, as I believe that BIG Business is almost as bad for this country as BIG Government. All-in-all, I'm for less taxes, less federal government, strict interpretation of the Constititution, and the protection of individual liberties.

I live here in Mono County, raise two young children with my wife, work as a power plant Control Room Operator, serve as a volunteer firefighter, and fly fish whenever I get a chance. Hopefull I'll end up meeting some you on the range or on the water.

I happen to be a teacher, with all the economic woe in the state I've found myself unemployed during the summers, mono county has been my stress reliever for four years now,,, retired I wish! Trout is the game I'm after and the golden is still on the list of fish to catch!

No permit yet. I'm going to take the Powers Firearm Training CCW course in Bishop next month. I agree that a law abidiing citizen should not have to obtain a permit to excercie a fundamental right. I will be carrying while fishing in the meantime. I have heard that Scholl is great when it comes to CCW's as well; although, I heard a rumor that he may be retiring soon. -I have not confirmed this.

With a toddler and a newborn at home, I'll be lucky if I get 15 days on the water this year. :( I'll bet you already know which lake up around the Twin Lakes area has Goldens, but if not, PM me, and I'll tell ya what I know.

Welcome aboard. Nice blues skies. Makes me wanna get out doors. Unfortunately, like you...I have 3 children two which are 2 and 4.

And mommy is in Hawaii.... :/

I guess I can still take the little ones up to the mountains. :)

You've got your hands full! I can hardly keep my two under control, and that's with help.

cool...had asked as I was aware of the class offering in July, since I'm the one who posted it...hint, wink, nudge etc...

there is a "two part" class with classroom on Saturday and Range on Sunday or the all day class with classroom and range on the same day....

It'll likely be pretty hot...but that's why the class portion was offered as a two part deal...

Fyi...I'm sure we will be pleased to meet you there at class...be sure to say Hi and remind me of the calguns connect when you come to class... I'll be the funny looking guy doing what the red-hair girl tells me to do and talking at about mach 3 all morning...
hint, wink, nudge etc...
