Took some new toys out to the range today had a great time shooting my new Mosin and SKS pulled out the old AR and all was well through several mags including the new Spikes ST2 buffer, then I throw the New Frontier LW 15 lower on there and I got 2 light strikes out of 10.. The trigger is great compared to my traditional lower but yeah 2 of 10 light strikes made me want to stop playing... Was shooting tula - never had a problem before with it. Should I get a stronger hammer spring?

Is the Tula primer harder than say a primer used on american made ammo?

I recommend contacting New Frontier Armory.

Throw in the heavy hammer spring. I forget who sells it but I saw a link here. I'll search around for it.

Get a wolff xp hammer spring and an enhanced firing pin. You can get both from Galati Int'l.

Russian primers are harder.

I have the enhanced firing pin in there, hmm I think I may even have the Xp spring laying around too. Forgot about that.

The firing pin should do the job on its own.

It's worked to date matched with my Spikes lower, just not working out with my LW-15

Same LPK on both lowers? Could be a weaker hammer spring.

Let us know how this turns out I am curious.

No, I don't think New Frontier uses the Spike's LPK, they have the accutrigger system in there.

I will shoot them an email, I'm not in any hurry to use the LW-15 again though, I am thinking that I will throw a 5.56, 6.5 or 6.8 upper on there once all the hysteria calms downs and hopefully with the american made ammo this won't be an issue.
