Here's a few good spots with good deals and service.

SWFA (http://swfa.com/Riflescopes-C1443.aspx)- Magnified Optics
Primary Arms (https://www.primaryarms.com/)- Good budget optics
SKD (http://www.skdtac.com/LaRue-Tactical-s/31.htm)- Great deal on mounts

Best deals are during holidays, you actually just missed several Memorial Day sales.

If you're more specific with details, like budget and intended use, members might be able to point you to better locations.

What kind of optics?

If you want to see/try a bunch of optics first hand, go to a 3-gun or tactical rifle match. Most guys are perfectly happy letting you grope and drool.

If you want good prices... depends on which optic you decide on. By far the best option is to browse the classifieds here and arfcom.

I bought mine on Amazon. If you watch for a couple of weeks, you will see sellers change, raise and lower, their prices and if you grab it at the right time, you can get a good deal.

Of course, Amazon doesn't have every model, etc., but they had the one I wanted.

Im looking for a red dot. The only one I have ever shot was a Vortex Spark both with a 3x magnifier and without it. I was really impressed with it.
$250-350 is my budget

For $350 and a little luck and patience you'll be able to get a used Eotech 512 or Aimpoint Comp M or ML 2 or 3 in the private sales sections, here or in the other AR forums.

About a month ago I scored a clean 512 for $300 here. A couple of years ago I also scored a clean Aimpoint C3 with a LaRue mount and other accessories for $400.

Otherwise check out Primary Arms, they often offer package deals including mounts and magnifier.

hit up Architects15 (forum vendor)... he has good deals on Lucid, but can get others...

Also red-dot-scopes.com has a great selection with some of the best pricing and free shipping over $99... I think they price match too.

There's always Midway, Cabelas, Natchez, Optics Planet... they are good when they have something on sale (or decent active coupon).

Save up a few more pennies and get an Aimpoint PRO.

They're available for $400 shipped all day long from several vendors.

The Millett DMS-1 is a good scope in your price range. A very popular setup is the DMS-1 in a Burris PEPR mount.
