What gives? Magpul magazines work well, everyone says, so now the GI's can't use them?

They worked well for me and a few of the guys I was with. I'm still going to use it though, I dont need some paper pusher telling me what's good for me. what are they gonna do? write me paperwork or extra duty? It's much better than the alternative.

The army isn’t banning anything, they are “standardizing”.

if a soldier has a jam and its not even the magazines fault it will get the blame as it is not an standardized government tested device

this was brought up in a few threads over the last week. I believe the issue wasn't with MagPul but "polymer" mags in general. In order to alleviate the issues the Army decided to ban all "polymer" mags.

too many companies producing polymer mags but not up to the standards of MagPul

Wow , let's ban the use of something that helps our soldiers survive . What a complete failure of the government to make smart decisions. 6 months after the pmag came out, IT should have been adopted completely, and aluminum mags banned. The GI mag is a outdated inferior design, and Should be replaced.

I've seen the difference first hand at the range, a guys rifle giving him all sorts of problems , I handed him a loaded pmag and the rifle cycled flawlessly.

Seems like someone didnt get their kickback and threw a giant '**** you' to magpul. What's next? Banning Camelbak? Trijicon?

I used them towards the end of my time in the Marine Corp and they always worked flawlessly..but this is gonna be one of those things where the higher ups ban something and guys on the ground just go on paying no attention to it

I agree with dbo31, that is exactly what i'm hearing. My rangers friend said "...and, you think they are checking my mags when I jump out of helicopters in afghan for pmags??"
