View Full Version : PX4 Storm, 9mm or get a SW M&P 15 Sport?

I am not sure if i should be posting in this forum or the rifle one. I am slowly getting more funds and I am currently torn between getting a pistol, PX4 Storm in 9mm or a AR-15, SW M&P 15 Sport.
I know these are completely different firearms. I have fired both and love both but i would like some input from you guys (& girls). It would be greatly appreciated! :)

Rough Life... :D I'd say whichever you have less of,handgun/rifle add to that side. Update with decision and pics!

I own a 9mm PX4 Storm as well. With the handgun you will find more ranges to shoot at and the ammo is quite a bit cheaper. Even though it's only a 9mm still a better home defense weapon that the M&P primarily due to it's size.

Agreed, I try and keep an even stable, but handguns usually keep a slight lead. Word to the wise AR's can be money pits... I know mine is ;)

the AR will cost more... but...
I had a PX4 .40 (recently sold it)... but still have my M&P Sport (for whatever that's worth to you :D)

An AR just keeps on giving, at least for most of us.
depends what you like/want to do with it. i love everything so i wouldnt care. i already have 2 AR's. (one in 5.56 and the other in 9mm haha) so id prob go some other 9mm hand gun

5.56/.223 is becoming more expensive and harder to come by. 9mm is still cheap and easy to find.

Most likely you'll end up with both in your arsenal, not to mention a shotgun. It all comes down to what YOU want to do 1st. Home defense & indoor range shooting, 9mm would be most practical. Just a thought...

AR's can be money pits

Thanks for all the input everyone. Iam thinking that I will go with the SW M&P Sport first (if i can find one around my area lol) I will save up for the PX4 storm when I have funds again. I will post again when I get it out of jail =D
Man, I am gonna end up broke lol =p

I agree to keep your collection even. FWIW, a friend of mine just picked up his M&P15 Sport and loves it. Excellent rifle for the money. It ran 100% and was pretty accurate.

Depends on what you already have, if this a your first gun you will certainly shoot the px4 storm more often than any AR. Px4 is cheaper and 9mm is cheaper, so if you don't already have a handgun then go with px4. M&P15 sport is a good entry level AR for the money, if you want a rifle to keep your collection even this would be a good call too

I actually have 2 handguns already, a Beretta M9 & Ruger SR9. It would be my first AR. I am hoping that Turners in Pasadena will have it. Or maybe Bain and Davis in San Gabriel.

I couldnt make up my mind so I got both at the same time...

^ I was considering that, but that would be too much strain on my wallet. Maybe I will get the PX4 Storm in a few months. Got to replenish my gun fund lol

Why not get an AR style pistol? Kind of like killing two birds with one stone.
