I was just curious what different ammos can be used on the sig716? I know they list 7.62x51, but will other ammos work as well?

I could be wrong, but I heard it does not like shooting 300win mag or 45lc very much.

i think what your asking is if .308 will work in your rifle. and theoretically it should, however, i would call sig and ask if it is safe to shoot .308. if the chamber is nice and tight it should be fine... if you google 7.62x51 vs .308 you will get the explanation why...

So all .308 would from what Sig said, So that means I can use all .308 ammo or does it have to say .308 7.62, Or is that that same thing?? Sorry for my incompetence.

You can use both .308 and 7.62x51 which is basically just about identical. You can fire a .308 out of a 7.62x51 marked rifle but not the other way around. And the 716 will eat just about anything. There is a you tube video of them feeding it anything and it ate e drugging they fed it flawlessly. The 716 is one fine piece of machinery and so hard to get.

actually its the other way around, the pressures from commercial 308 can often exceed the pressures of nato 7.62. causing problems in weaker rifle actions. however, in 99% of modern rifles chambered in either cartridge, you can safely shoot either cartridge with minimal or no consequence...
