View Full Version : I have to stop lurking because I have annoying questions :D

Hello Calguns!

I first began lurking here with only my .22 and you have unknowingly helped me expand the collection to include an SKS, a Remington 870 Police magnum, and a Rock Island 1911 (with a nice bolter in .308 on the way as funding permits).

I have learned a great deal from your collective intelligence and now I need some specific help finding the local super secret shooting spots. (tried to post in my local section but got a "restricted" error message)

My situation: I live in the Temecula area and have a beautiful fiancee who loves to shoot but is of a delicate constitution and cannot always handle the drive out to Bee Canyon. Some days she is out of the truck before I have my seatbelt undone, .357 (or 5.56) in hand and ready to make holes in things all day (figuratively, of course; we are very conscious of firearm safety), and other days she will suddenly feel unwell 15 minutes into our session and needs to be driven home.

What are the good free or very low cost spots within a half hour or so of Temecula where we can shoot? Our collection ranges from .22 pistols up to rifles in the .30-caliber family. I don't mind bringing a bag or two of trash out when I leave, but I'd prefer to avoid expenditures outside of gas and ammo if possible.

...I saw a thread where a generous Calgunner offered up his property for shooting on the condition we take out our trash and leave our casings; are there such places out here?

Welcome to Calguns. My wife is occassionally also prone to car sickness, have you tried having her drive? That sometimes does the trick for my wife. Good luck.

Welcome to Calguns! :)

I'm a little far away to help you with your question, but I hope you find a shooting spot that will fit your needs.

Have you contacted local LE to Temecula? They might know of any spots where you could shoot in the vicinity? Is Rainbow still operating? Maybe worth the $$$ as fuel is so expensive these days.

I don't know your area, can't offer any suggestions. There are quite a few threads on so-cal shooting areas though. Have a browse around - also, this is the "new here" area and most folks don't look here for Qs to A.
