If i give the following info, can anyone give me some details on the gun and an approximate value?

Maker: Smith and Wesson
Model: 10 SW
Caliber: .38
Serial: **not sure I should post it, but have it if needed**

Post up some pictures. The pictures can help show the overall condition the gun is in which affects the value. Also checkout gunbroker, I use it as a way to see what people are asking and people are spending on firearms and related accessories.

Not sure about your model but I believe they retail for around ~$500 depending on conditions and up to $700 with original grips, box, etc.

Model 10s were made for a long period of time, IIRC ending production in the early 90s.
The best way to find out the specifics of your model would be to write to S&W and give them your serial number and they should be able to tell you the origin and where it was originally sold.

You can also try the S&W forum and they will be likely to give you a better face value just by looking over your pictures.
