Hi Guys,

I've just converted to a wood stock & forend for an old school look.
I notice that the metal action tube rides on four depressions at each end. Do you use any lubricant or let it slide dry?

The tube is a Mossberg part, not an aftermarket piece.
I'm noticing already that the gun racks more smoothly with the metal tube, just not sure if it should get any lube.

Dry is fine.

Thanks, Swifty - I'll run it dry.

Dry is a relative term...to protect the magazine tube from corrision it should be wiped down with "oil" or other protective substance. My action bars and magazine tube are lubed, lightly with froglube, miltec or TW25.

Mossy, That sounds like the best idea - I'm enjoying the easier racking already - if it can be improved, so much the better.

Dry rack the holy crap out of the gun. Just hold the action release in and racka-racka-racka. This will wear in your gun quicker. Then amaze your friends with one handed racking of your gun.
