Ive been drooling over the CZ SP-01's but couldnt locate one locally for awhile, that is until today! Found this baby locally still wrapped in the plastic bag. It was a impulse buy, but I dont think ill regret it. Shes going to be my new range toy on the weekends. Ill post a follow up report once I pick her up.

Hah...regret it? Is that a joke?

Not trying to sound like a fanboy, but I don't know too many people that pick up a CZ and don't like it.

Unless their quality has changed, they make a pistol the right way. Better than most other brands of production pistols, irrespective of price.

I have also been bit

I have bought two this month, and I finally get to start DROS on my SP01 tomorrow. And then another 30 days until I can start DROS on my Satin Nickel 75b (off roster)

Everyone that's shot my CZ75B has loved it. I'm going to go break in my 97B I picked up this last week. Ordered an SP01 from CZ custom, had them change out the sights, it should be here in time for my 30 days to have pased from the 97. Nice that you found that one locally, I'm guessing Royal Pawn on El Cajon, or Iron Sights??

CZ is a great combat pistol.

i like to think of them as our 21st century hi-power, the original cz75b is similar to the HP and the new generation of SP-01s and P-07 pistols w/ beavertails and rails are really giving the polymer kings a run for their money.

i do wish they came with better factory triggers though, that would be the one glaring weakness. otherwise a great pistol, great ergos, accuracy, and tough as hell.

Congrats! I have had mine on order at a local shop here in SD for almost 4 months now! And you walk into a shop somewhere around here and pick one up?! =P

On the bright side, it sounds like the SP-01's are finally making it down here. I hope I get a call soon...

I have been buying and shooting CZ's for about 4 years now. Have 5 so far. 3 9mm, one .380 , and one .40 . Love them all, specially the 9mm SA and the .40 SA. Bought the .40 SA out of box, but sent my 9mm 75B to Angus at Ghost products for a conversion to SA and some trigger work. It now has a flat target trigger with a 2.1 lb pull, smooth as silk. I am planning on sending my SP-01 to have the same treatment. For me , these are mostly range , target guns, so no need for double action. And as fun as it is to shoot them at 25 yards or less, they also do great at hitting a metal gong at 160 yards, which is a fun challenge.

Thanks guys. For the locals, I found this at Socal guns. At the time they had 3, now there is only the display left (as of 5pm today). I paid on the high side 659, but given that these arent easy to find I wasnt going to let this pass me by.

CONGRATS!!!

Now I'm pretty irritated... to see that SoCal guns has 3 just laying around and a month ago I paid for one in full at Turners (same price) and they are still yet to find one... I don't know how the distribution on these works but it kinda irks me to know that rather than paying in full and being placed "in the front of the line" is a bunch of BS.... rather I should ahve just saved the cash and waited util I saw it at another shop that is a little more diligent at finding sought after products for their customers.

I' pretty curious to even know if this "list" is followed up on regularly or if they just check it when they "get around to it."

Can you cancel your order? I read recently (within the last month) that someone here on calguns walked into a turners and asked if they had one. They said they had one in the warehouse and he got it.

I would check with turners ASAP, I saw their manifest the other day and a few of their stores had them in stock. Not sure how many we're already spoken for but there was more than a dozen in the inventory list. TDS in Southbay also called me yesterday to say that they had one in stock at the rocklin store, and that they could start the dros and transfer it down here. SoCal sold out of the SP01 last week.

I've always been hesitant to order anything gun related when there is no ETA. I'd much rather hunt something down and pay a few extra bucks then wait for months. I'm sure you'll do that next time.

The 75B was my first handgun. It reproduced itself into a PCR, RAMI, and Kadet conversion.

I loved everything about it but the trigger sting so they all had to go. :(

GREAT accuracy and pretty good reliability but it just made my finger numb after only a few mags.

Yea your right, there has been lots of talk about CZs lately, and im Definetly jumping on the bandwagon. I shot a 75b and I just had to have one. The all steel frame is a pleasure to shoot, and I'm already considering a 97.

I think that the CZs are gaining in popularity, perhaps because a lot of shooters are a bit weary of Tupperware guns? Glocks and XDs are great but there is something very special about an all steel framed gun that is not a 1911. Plus that grip on my SP-01 is incredible.

I shoot an SP-01 in Production and love it. I just bought a second one from CZ Custom (DROS on Monday) and will keep it stock.

I went to the CZ booth at the Raahauges/ Turners gunshot yesterday and shot the 75 SA and the P-01. I think I need a P-01 now as well. Shoots just like the SP-01 and a more interesting alternative to a Glock 19.

I used to have CZ75 back home 15 yrs ago,the only complains I have are the grip is so big(obviously CZ was designed for europeans) and the trigger is too far(similar to beretta) for an average asian. Glock went for the multiple grip for an added market.
Does SPOI have a slimmer frame now compared to 15 years ago?
Thanks for the input Bros!!

It's actually a rough texture in the resin/epoxy. The website that sells these gives you the option of having texture on there or leaving it smooth. Various colors of CF, reflective CF, and the carbon/kevlar combo that gant has.

I cant say enough about my Phantom. Its the most reliable and accurate 9 ive ever owned or shot. Better for me than the browning hi power, glock 17, or sig 226. Ive got a few buddies that are active operators in AFSOC and would much prefer a CZ75 over anything they've ever been issued or trained to shoot on a handgun platform. Any version of the CZ75 is solid. end of discussion

the trigger on my phantom was a little heavy and notchy at first but after a few trips to the range it really smoothed out nicely. Now if its broke in and still notchy id send it to them. Theyre customer care is great compared to HK, Glock, or Springfield. Trust me ive been through hell and back with some of them

one thing i forgot to mention is that ultimately any CZ75 model besides the competition model, is a fighting handgun. Fighting handguns arent supposed to have nice triggers, although some have a better rep(1911) for trigger feel. This doesnt mean it cant be the gun you want. A trigger job on a 75 is fairly easy and would only run around $60. Tell the gunsmith what you want it to feel like, it is a very solid trigger assembly to work with
