I'm an AR newb. Which mags do you like? (Not interested on 10/20s or 10/30s)

I like D&H Mags and used them for my 10 rounders. I also made some of my own out of pmags as 10 round shorties.

Stubby PMAGs are cool.
"Stubby" AR15 PMAG (http://midwestpx.com/index.php?cPath=15_69)
You can get them in 10 rounds.

Can't comment on quality(because they haven't arrived), but I just picked a couple up from 44mag.com @ like $13ea, it was $5 S&H for 4 mags. Tough to beat that price, it seems.

Just stay away from Thermold 10 rounders. I bought eight of them from CDNN a couple of months ago and all eight had weak springs that would not feed the 9th or 10th round. I asked about them on another forum and heard from others who've also had feed issues with the 10 rounders.

I use the D&H's exclusively. Excellent and affordable and keeps me from getting funny looks at the range.

I use the 10/30 PMags. They are inexpensive and I have never seen a problem.

I have personally always used metal mags. Never had a single issue with them, but have with PMAGs. Mainly the problem I have with PMAGs is that the bolt doesn't always hold open after the last round.
