Someone in the USA has finally picked up importing some very classy stocks for the Tikka line of rifles in the US. I might have to get one for my next Tikka! :D

I'm usually more of a fan of synthetic or wood stocks and not laminated stocks, but this one is nice looking!

Looks nice, but man, that is a spendy piece of wood for $700. I'd consider it for 2-3 bills, but not 7.

Yeah... the adjustable recoil pad and cheek piece are nice, but $700? That's a bit much. For 7 bills you're getting into the pricerange of chassis that use AICS mags.

Really, I do not think that the price is THAT bad considering that the product pool for Tikkas is not especially huge like the Remington 700 market. And, if you are like me, these appeal for being something different than what is en vogue or "tactical."

Precisely, especially for the adjustablility. No all wood (or laminate) is created equal.

No one said it was. But there is a difference between them asking $700 for this, and the $400-$500 I think it's actually worth.

They dont make AICS chassis anymore for 700.00 bucks... those days are LONG GONE! MCMullans are like 700 non adjustable now days....... AX chassis replaced the AICS and they are ALL over 1200.00 Thats NOT worth it period.

I wanted one of these a while ago but couldn't find out how to get one. Ended up getting an XLR which simply did not work out. My Tikka Scout just went SPF today -- just wasn't meant to be!

should have tried the KRG!

My primary match gun is a TRG so had no desire for the poor man's version & the buttstock on the KRG looks like an abortion (to me) ... but the GRS stock is beautiful!

First, I didn't say "AICS chassis". I specified "chassis that takes AICS mags".

Second, they didn't make an AICS chassis for the Tikka anyway.

The XLR chassis starts at $750. A Manners T-4A and CDI bottom metal runs about 850. A KRG W3 runs $890. So my statement that this particular stock is getting up into the pricerange of a chassis/stocks with adjustable cheekpieces and recoil pads that use AICS mags is correct. To get AICS magazine compatibility with this stock, I'd still need to buy the CDI bottom metal, and that will put the total cost over $900. For $700 and laminate, I'd want to get something that lets me ditch the crappy plastic Tikka magazines.

Wow I am in love. As a Tikka owner the more stocks available the better. If you want a "cheap" stock get a manners. Those are no way poor quality stocks and if you upgrade to fully adjustable it cost more than the GRS ones. Damn I wish I didnt just buy a Single Six and book a vacation for Vegas I want one.
