Well, I bought me one of those kits and built them at a build party. It turned out good. I shot the sucker. I had it attached to a single point sling and held it from my body for support. The sling helped. I'm not a good shot but it seemed to shoot where I was pointing. Shot maybe 100 rounds. Might have a little more kick than the rifle version, but I didn't notice it because I didn't get "buttkicked" because I wasn't holding it against my body. Shooting it one-handed got it jammed, so how is this a pistol? I did it twice, jammed twice. Sort of like limp wristing it. Maybe a double point sling could solve that next time.

Here is a comparison to a Romanian AK. The pistol is a chopped down version of the romy ak. Even the rear trunnion was the same except they cut the trunnion connecting the buttstock and welded a plate. Another problem was the handguard and gas tube were loose when put together, but some welding solved that problem. The only matching parts are the bolt and front trunnion. Other parts are non-matching.

Cost:
kit : 320
lock : 15
trigger: 25
flat : 20
bp : 40
plate : 5
sling+part : 10

~430 + whole Saturday = WORTH IT!

Now I need to put it down as a ccw. But first, I need a ccw... yeah right.

Try an ak74 type brake it makes the kick and muzzle flip eaiser to handle. Tapco ones are great for under 20.00

Try the MI flash hider/comp. Looks good on pistols and works pretty well. Not as long by any means as the AK74 style.

Congrats on the pistol build! I built up the same kit and am having short stroke issues. Gonna press off the gas block and check the diameter of the gas port hole on the barrel, thinking it is undersized. Glad to hear yours for the most is trouble free.

Its not recoil operated, so Im not sure how holding lightly would make it jam

How are the bores since they are not crome lined?

Its not that its the fact the centerfire is not taking there time to align the gas hole in the barrel with the gas block hole. A close friend of mine and I did this yesterday on the same draco another buddy of ours has and we were not able to feed any kind of small wire down the gas block to have it show up in the barrel and so we pressed the gas block off and measured. Found out that the gas block had to be pressed further back towards the rear sight about 1.5mm or so. you might have to do your own measurements when you have your gas block off.

Hope this helps.

My 1st build wasn't chromed line, it shoots ok. The bore looked ok when I installed the barrel.

Seconding this, the MI FH is compact and works well.

yea yea. Blame the guy who put on the Mi rail that I bought it from. Either way, its losing the rail once it gets back in my sweaty little hands.
