I need to replace a MOE stock after replacing a problematic commercial buffer tube and castle nut with a milspec buffer tube. Long story... I think the locking mechanism of the CTR is worth the extra $20 over the MOE.

Comments, opinions and recommendations on the wide cheek weld of the STR/ACS/SOPMOD style vs narrower cheek weld of CTR/MOE stocks?

Will a boresnake, small tube of lubricant and a two ended cleaning brush fit in the two battery storage tubes of the STR?

Basically, is the STR stock worth the extra $20-30 over a CTR stock?

I had the CTR before, nice stock, but I agree with the post above. The STR is more comfortable to shoot with. I intially got it for my fiance's rifle, but she might be hearing some BS excuse as to why I'm taking hers and giving her the CTR. =)

STR it is. Time to find one in FDE.

I went with the STR. Better cheek weld, feels sturdier, compartments are a plus. As far as size of the compartments, they are roughly the size of AA batteries, maybe 2 deep.

Slickguns listed FDE stocks from Aim Surplus a couple of days ago.
